My Birthday Weekend | London

Hello my beauties!!

If you follow my social media then you'd already know that I spent this past weekend in London celebrating my 21st Birthday (which is today!!!) with my best friend Amy and I had such an amazing time. I didn't manage to vlog anything to be honest, I got a few clips here and there but nothing worth shouting about, I've uploaded a small video to my YouTube if you wanted to watch that but I gathered I'd upload some photographs for you to have a nose at and let you all in on what I got up too.

Friday 8th May.
We set off from The Island around 10.30am, we was due to leave much earlier and then a train was delayed so by this point we were just stressed and our journey hadn't even begun. We travelled to Waterloo where we stayed at Days Hotel, if you're looking for a cheap hotel central to everything then I'd highly recommend, they were fab!! The room we had was so spacious and the staff were really pleasant. Nothing was too much for them, and we were just a 10 minute walk from The London Eye!!

Once we arrived at our hotel and checked in, we travelled to Madame Tussauds, which was brilliant!! I've wanted to go here for ages, and I'm so glad I managed to go this weekend. We brought the pass which aloud us entry to all 4 London Attractions, at a discounted price online prior to arriving - which I would recommend, great value for money!
Some of the wax works were a little disappointing

That evening we travelled to Cambridge Theatre, we stopped off at The Diner to have some Dinner, it was lovely! A retro American style Diner, which served the yummiest burgers!!

We watched Matilda The Musical, oh my lord ... no words!! I cannot put into words how amazing this performance was. Everything was spot on, the creativity was amazing.
Unfortunately you wasn't aloud to take photographs so I only have a few of the set prior to the show starting.

We then travelled back to the hotel where we spent the evening gossiping and catching up as we rarely see each other. It was really nice to just relax and talk, catch up and spend quality time together. You can catch a slight glimpse of the end over on my YouTube.

Saturday 9th May.

Looking back, I cannot believe how much we managed to fit into this single day. I'm so glad we did though, because Sunday was not a day for extra activities (self inflicted)

We started by having a ridiculous lay-in and then woke in a panic because we didn't think we would fit half of the things that we wanted to do into the day.

We roamed around and struggled to find a cafe to have some Brunch, but finally we found a little cafe called 'Marie's Cafe' it wasn't much to look at if I'm honest, but the food was amazing.

We then walked around Waterloo and made our way to The London Eye.

The London Eye was brilliant, slightly scary if like me you're scared of heights but it was well worth the slight heart attack!! Following The London Eye, we went to SEA Life London Aquarium.

We then managed to catch the last entrance at The London Dungeons, again we wasn't aloud to take photographs inside so unfortunately I only have a couple of photographs of the entrance, but I cannot express how amazing this was! Without spoiling it for anyone who hasn't gone and is planning too, it was nothing like I expected. I thought you'd walk through some tunnels and you'd get jumped on and scared - oh no. You get guided, you go on a journey, including stories, re-enactments with the occasional heart attack (I wont say no more!!)

Whilst waiting to board The London Eye we spotted The London Eye River Cruise, which looked fantastic but we wasn't sure if we would have time to experience this, luckily we caught the last departure! This was fantastic and a great end to our day! You board the boat and have a choice of sitting on top deck or bottom, then you get a spoken guide as you ride up and down the River Thames. It was lovely and relaxing and ideal if you want to see certain things such as Big Ben, St Paul's Cathedral and The Shard without travelling around London.

We finished our River Cruise around 19.30 and headed to Mcdonalds to grab some Dinner because heading back to our hotel to get ready for that nights antics.

We booked tickets to Ministry of Sound for a House event which was being held there, including Felix The Housecat, Todd Terry, Ryan Blyth, Stuff, Third Son, Tainted Souls Music, Alexis Raphael. It was a brilliant night! We drank a few too many shots and danced until our feet ached.

Sunday 10th May.

Today was not a day for anything that involved thinking, processing or organisation so to say that we struggled to get up, packed and checked out by 11.00am would be an understatement - but we did it! (okay, we might have been half an hour late but still!!) We topped up our Oyster Cards and made tracks back home, before stopping off at London Victoria station to get some gifts and do a little bit of shopping.

I have had the most amazing weekend, and I cannot wait to get back and experience some other things in London, its crazy that I'm 21 and this is the first time I have actually gone to London other than on a day trip with my school.

Happy 21st Birthday to ME!!
